Illogan Parish Council by-election
Found out a by-election on Illogan Parish Council was held last Thursday. A Liberal Party candidate con-*test*-('")ed it (well of course one did, otherwise why would I be making a thread about it on this forum? :P ) and was opposed by a Liberal Democrat. Result: Veronica Cadby Liberal, 186 Amanda Mannion Liberal Democrat, 185 Turnout 13.9% Low turnout and a very close result but still a win for the Liberal Party. I don't know whether this was a gain or a hold for the Liberals as I haven't been able to find anything out about the make-up of Illogan Parish Council.

Re: Illogan Parish Council by-election
A win is a win, and all the more exciting for being by a one-vote margin! Very well done to Cllr Veronica Cadby. I don't know anything about Illogan at all, but it looks lovely: http://www.saint-illogan.org.uk/pics_illogan.htm

Illogan By-election
This by-election is not a Liberal gain but a Liberal hold. The paty has had a number of seats on this and the neighbouring Carn Brea PC for many years. The local District Councillor is Paul Holmes (Liberal) and he also holds the local County Council seat for the Liberals. Con-*test*-('")s between the liberals and Lib Dems in the area have been very close in recent years.

I thin this is a gain
I do believe this is a gain. Paul does a great deal of work in the parish, and his county ward, it is a tribute to this that he gains seats like this.

The Liberal Party website has it down as a hold.
