Is Steve Radford the right man
Is Steve Radford the right man to lead The Liberal Party? PLEASE GIVE YOUR REASONS FOR A YES OR NO.

Although i put the poll up, I believe it was only right that i voted. I voted yes, i am new to the party so I am unsure of who else there would be if not Steve. I left UKIP to join The Liberal Party after emailing Steve and gaining a prompt polite reply which gave me the encouragment to make the switch. He is a very good local cllr who i will support.

I couldn't possibly comment on Steve Radford's leadership as I simply know so little about him. He is a very good local cllr who i will support. Since you're in Southampton and Radford is in Liverpool how do you know he is a very good, local councillor?

I have a number of friends who live in Liverpool.

I have no direct personal knowledge of Steve Radford's work in Liverpool, and unlike you I don't even have friends who live there. However, I have read his blog: http://www.liverpoolliberalparty.motime.com/ It has hundreds upon hundreds of detailed postings about his activities as a local councillor - campaigns, meetings, votes etc - stretching back over a number of years. While I don't have the Liverpool background to judge whether he is right or wrong about this or that local issue, I don't think anyone reading that blog could have any doubt about how hard he works as a councillor. You can't fake the sort of commitment demonstrated in that blog. Incidentally, while the Liberal Party has in many ways been slow to make use of the internet, in this respect at least it has shown the way: the use of blogs to keep local people in touch with what their councillors are doing. This is a really good idea. Apart from the Liverpool one, the Wyre Forest Liberals (primarily Fran Oborski) keep a similar blog which again demonstrates unending detailed efforts on behalf of local people. Somebody (was it the late Mike Oborski?) apparently saw the potential of blogs for this sort of thing early on, and set up four or five local Liberal blogs in about 2003-4. Only the Liverpool and Wyre Forest ones seem to be still active now, but they work really well. That's one reason I think the new Southampton one is a Good Thing too!
